People share their most hilarious comparisons between Twitter and Tooter after India launches its own micro-blogging site inspired by the former.

India has launched its own 'swadeshi' version of the popular micro-blogging site, Twitter. The site, Tooter is a product of the Made in India movement. The platform is modelled taking inspiration from Twitter to let people create and share their thoughts. The app is a cross over between Facebook and Twitter and has a Conch Shell (Shank) as its logo.

The app, Tooter lets the users experience similar mechanisms as Twitter, where a person can create an account with the @username of their choice and an email address. After signing up, users can follow other accounts, read through a feed, and customise groups and lists. The posts will be called "Toots," which is similar to 'Tweets' on Twitter.

Some prominent users such as PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani, actor Abhishek Bachchan, Sadhguru and cricketer Virat Kohli are a part of the platform. The website has been active since June-July and basically is a platform created for free speech. The app suggests that it was created to promote 'free speech'.
