Gudi Padwa, aka the Maharashtrian New Year, is back on our celebration cards, which means and its time munch on some puran poli, and enjoying time with family and friends. The enthusiasm is just as much on social media as people are willingly sharing their experience of the festivities with the world. Sharing pictures of their gudis not just makes it their building or street celebrating. Folks from around the world join in and makes it a communal celebration!
It feels like Gudi Padwa has become a bigger, shared festival now. Videos of shobha yatras, and dhol-tasha beats going viral, and even recipes for that lip smacking shrikhand are popping up everywhere. It’s like the whole world is connected, even if they’re miles apart. And people who’ve moved away from family can still find a way to post their “Happy Gudi Padwa” selfie keepinb up with the traditions!
