power of collaboration

Content Creators Anjana Bapat, Sanket Mehta and Ashima Khanna trace the importance and power of collaboration amidst sharing their own content.

Was watching online content a respite for you under the lockdown? Do you love how your favourite Internet celebrities kept you engaged and entertained through tough times? Us, too! In fact, we dwelled a little deeper into the phenomenon and found interesting trends emerge. We could see a rise in the number of creative collaborations, where two or more creators came together to spread positivity, raise their voices and participate in ongoing trends. Some were just trying to break the limitations of boundaries that came with creating engaging content at home. Content Creators Anjana Bapat, Sanket Mehta and Ashima Khanna trace the importance and power of collaborations amidst the lockdown.

Such collaborative videos not only add to the entertainment value of the content but also help creators reach out to new audiences. There is no dearth of fun challenges! While viewers get to see an array of creators in one frame, creators get an opportunity to learn and grow with each collaboration.

They talk about the Power of Collaborations during a lockdown:

During the lockdown, virtual collaborations helped creators with something to look forward to. “There was a sense of togetherness, that we're all going through similar experiences and are here for each other, finding ways to keep ourselves and our followers engaged, hopefully bringing a smile to their faces,” says fashion and body-positivity influencer Anjana Bapat.

Creator Sanket Mehta feels the lockdown helped creators unlock their creative potential, find hidden talents and grow on social media, “While collaborating with fellow creators, there is cross engagement but according to me, things were different in the lockdown as everyone was home and active on social media. We got to more people than usual.”

The perfect match

“It's always fun to involve more people in your content. I made a lot of content with my influencer friends from DamnFam. I guess people just love to see us together and that's what pushes me to make more content with them. It's more fun when two or more minds brainstorm around a single idea,” adds Internet Influencer, Ashima Khanna.

Here are the 5 Tips for aspiring content creators:

Collaborations can help you reach a wider audience, and boost more diverse engagement on your feed.

Don't promote the same content if it doesn't fit your tone. Rather, create separate videos together for your respective audiences.

Be open to experimenting with ideas and concepts put forth by creators you are collaborating with.

Articulate your expectations and deliverables beforehand so that there's no room for confusion later.

Ensure there isn't a big overlap in your audiences and that of the creator you are collaborating with as it may not help you reach new audiences.
