Here’s what Prit Kamani and Jatin Sharma had to share:

Could you elaborate on the emotional journey that "KAIF" takes listeners through? How did you balance the contrasting themes of joy and fear in the lyrics and music?

Prit Kamani, "We all go through this journey at some point in our lives. It’s a battle within. It’s about metamorphosis. The lyrics, the composition, the voice they all work together to trigger an introspection. I just let the music take over and performed raw and wild just as Buland Himalay did with his vocals. The credit for the balance goes to the music producer Jatin Bisht, the director Ayush Nathani, cinematographer Winston Jose, editor Krunal Mali, and the amazing team of technicians on board."

Jatin Sharma said that balancing these themes was both challenging and rewarding. “The music acts as a bridge, using dynamic shifts in tempo, instrumentation, and harmony to juxtapose joy and fear without making the transition feel jarring.”

The song seems to touch on themes of self-discovery and breaking societal norms. Can you discuss the inspiration behind this message and how you hope it resonates with the audience?

Prit, "The inspiration is Buland Himalay’s own love for his music and his and co-lyricist Rohit Sharma’s observation in life that helped them compose and write this beautiful song. All of us have been low, confused and trapped at some point and we all need to find our way out."

Jatin explained how the song’s vibrant, euphoric sections symbolized the joy of self-expression, while the haunting, introspective tones captured the fears of breaking from convention. “ I hope "KAIF" resonates as a reminder to embrace this journey of self-discovery and to find courage in the coexistence of light and shadows.”

How did the creative process for "KAIF" unfold? Did you have any specific inspirations or influences that shaped the song's direction?

Prit, "I draw my inspiration from people around me. Their struggle and challenges might not be visible to us but they are fighting a battle everyday. Conversations about our collective experiences in life, with the director Ayush Nathani, Buland Himalay, creative producer Jomin Varghese, is how we narrowed down on the story and treatment and we had creative visionaries like Rohit Sobti sir who always helped every step of the way."

Jatin, “For KAIF, I let the music dictate the narrative. One of the most enlightening parts of the process was realizing how music acts as a mirror.” Jatin also said that Imtiaz Ali’s storytelling, especially from the movie Rockstar, profoundly influenced him while creating KAIF. “That dargah scene where he finds clarity amid the noise mirrored my own moments of epiphany while crafting KAIF.”

What was it like collaborating with each other on "KAIF"? How did your individual styles and strengths complement each other in the songwriting and performance process?

Prit, "Buland Himalay and I are like brothers from another mother. The commonality between us is pretty simple and that is we are both passionate for what we do. We immerse ourselves into our work. His music is magical and that helped me perform effortlessly. Just listening to the song, made my job easier."

Jatin, “When I first started envisioning the protagonist, Prit was always in my mind as a silhouette. But once he stepped into the role, he didn’t just play the part; he became the face of KAIF.” While Jatin mainly focused on creating a sonic landscape that carried the emotional weight of the story, he felt that Prit gave a human face to the video he had envisioned.

With "KAIF" generating significant buzz, what are your expectations from the audience? Are there any upcoming projects or collaborations that you're excited about?

Prit, "I just wish that kaif finds a place in the heart of its listeners. I hope that people can relate to the portrayal of inner turmoil that we tried to project on screen. Next year I have a fully filmy Bollywood romantic film, to be released in the theatres which I will talk more about in the coming few weeks. One of my biggest films! And I am working on two webshows, one is Tvf’s Half CA season 2, another one is still under wraps. I can’t wait to share more about them."

Meanwhile, Jatin explained how he wanted KAIF to be more than just a song; he wanted it to spark introspection and inspire people to embrace their own journeys with all their contradictions. When asked about his upcoming projects, Jatin said that he was working on a few collaborations with Artiste First and exploring new genres.

How do you see the power of music in shaping thoughts, emotions, and societal perspectives? What role do you hope "KAIF" plays in this regard?

Jatin hoped that "KAIF" encouraged people to reflect on their own fears and joys, and maybe even question societal norms that held them back. “It’s about empowering individuals to take control of their narratives.” Prit said, "We are so busy impressing others, we have forgotten what it is to be ourselves. Kaif is just a reminder to stop being the perfect version of expectation and to be an imperfect version but of your own self."

How has social media influenced your music career and the promotion of "KAIF"?

Jatin talked about how social media had been a game-changer during the promotion of KAIF. “ It allows independent artists like me to reach a global audience without boundaries. With "KAIF," I’ve received instant feedback, connected with fans, and shared the song’s journey in real time.”

Prit added, "The whole idea is that this work of art, this creation can talk to people who need it the most and through social media it will perhaps reach its audience more efficiently. We call it the inside out anthem, for a reason. We don’t claim to inspire but we aspire that re instills some hope, some faith, some spark when people hear and watch it."

What message would you like to share with your followers and supporters as you embark on this musical journey?

Jatin Sharma asked his followers to never stop questioning, dreaming, and growing. "Life is about embracing both the light and the shadows. Keep sharing your stories, and let’s continue this journey of self-discovery together.”

Prit promised that he wouldn’t let his followers down, and consider the people who follow his work are an important part of his journey. "My followers and fans don’t just like me, they absolutely love me with all their heart. They aren’t just numbers, they are my FAMILY. I want them to know I love them manifolds and I take it as a responsibility to excel with what I do to make them proud."
