India is a country of many, many religions, languages, cultures and so many things, but logic? Well, not so much. After the violence at Bhima Koregaon in the past couple of days, Maharashtra Bandh was the totally unnecessary outcome.
So, shutting down schools, colleges, shops and workplaces, bringing transportation to a standstill and causing property damage to protest stone pelting and violence against a community sounds fair right? Sigh. Twitter has been polarized between supporters of the Maharashtra Bandh, political parties and their IT cells trying to leverage this unfortunate incident to malign each other, and the normal janta that’s wondering what comes out of this?
Since the sun rose on January 3rd, 2018, Maharashtra Bandh has trended on Twitter consistently, as we all wonder, just three days into a new year, and this is what we are already looking at?
These Maharashtra Bandh Twitter reactions will provide you with a full, and balanced overview of the chaos that has engulfed Twitter today.

While the common people wonder why and what was happening!
When the #SupremeCourt has clearly stated that calling a bandh is unconstitutional and a violation of basic rights of citizens.. Why is a #maharashtrabandh call being entertained @Dev_Fadnavis @narendramodi @MumbaiPolice..please more stern action is required

So far Mumbai is normal. Where ever protestors gathered @MumbaiPolice dispersed them in minutes.
Trains, buses are fine. Autos, taxis off the roads.
Offices working, schools closed.
In Chembur eateries and shops still closed. #MaharashtraBandh— Preeti Sharma Menon (@PreetiSMenon) January 3, 2018
My request to my fellow Maharashtrians: we are land of Ambedkar, Shahu, Phule, of Gokhale and Tilak too: violence has no place in society.. let peace prevail above all else. #MaharashtraBandh
