Duke Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle to step down as the senior members of the Royal family. People on Twitter are sharing their reaction over this Megxit.

In a statement released by the Buckingham Palace on Wednesday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan will step back as the senior members of the Royal family. They wish to spend more time in North America and will be working to become financially independent. It is reported that such decisions require the permission of the Queen who is the head of the family and the state, but apparently the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not consult with the Queen ahead of the decision. While some are questioning their decision, Netizens are talking about the Megxit and showing support to their bold decision.

The couple announced the news on Instagram and it came as a surprise to the royal family as well.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.
