Coronavirus has become a serious issue with this pandemic taking many lives in the past few months. The virus that began in Wuhan, China has now infected many countries around the world with India being one of them. As the number of cases reported regarding the same seems to be increasing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a 21 days lockdown in the country. India which saw a Janata Curfew on Sunday 22nd March will now have a curfew for 21 days in the entire country. The PM came live on television at 8 pm to announce the same. We have jotted down some excerpts from PM Narendra Modi's national address.

Take a look at the excerpts from PM Narendra Modi's national address:

1. Appreciated and thanked the citizens of the country for making Janta Curfew on 22nd March 2020 a success

2. After 2 months extensive research, experts say that this outbreak can only be stopped from social distancing and that is our only solution to this problem -  it is for every citizen, every family and for every member of the family and not only the infected

3. Urged every citizen to strictly adhere to social distancing to stop the spread of the disease. If not controlled now, India will have to pay a hefty price which cannot be estimated

4. From 24th March on midnight, there will be a complete lockdown across the country for three weeks: PM Narendra Modi

5. PM Modi urges Indians to stay at home for 3 weeks as one step outside can bring in the infection - These 21 days are crucial. If we are not able to curtail this in 21 days, then the country will go back 21 days. Hence, forget moving out of your house for 21 days. The only thing that people have to do now onwards, is to stay at home.

6. The Centre has allocated Rs 15,000 crore for people infected with COVID-19. This includes increasing the number of beds, testing kits, and even training of professionals to combat the disease.
