The crime thriller 'Neeyat' revolves around CBI officer Mira Rao as she investigates the murder of exiled billionaire Ashish Kapoor's murder in Scotland.
It is common knowledge that a film almost always works if it has Vidya Balan in it, especially in the lead role. However, despite Balan's presence, her recent film 'Neeyat', which was released today is not getting good reviews. Janta's verdict is out, and while many were excited to watch the film, it seems that most have disliked it. Don't get us wrong! The audience is still all hearts for Balan's phenomenal acting and screen presence as CBI officer Mira Rao. There are a few who have also liked the movie, especially its exciting climax. However, most people in the audience have found the script flawed and disappointing calling it an unimpressive copy of the Hollywood thriller 'Knives Out'.
Dismayed reactions are also coming in about the roles of the supporting actors in the film. For the uninitiated, directed by Anu Menon, Neeyat is a crime thriller that stars the ensemble cast of Vidya Balan, Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Neeraj Kabi, Niki Walia, Amrita Puri, Shahana Goswami, Dipannita Sharma Atwal, Shashank Arora, Prajakta Koli, and Danesh Razvi.
The film's description reads, "When a mysterious murder takes place at exiled billionaire Ashish Kapoor’s birthday party, the prime suspects are his close family and friends. As twists follow turns and devious motives are revealed, CBI officer Mira Rao must use all her skill to unravel a mystery where nothing is what it seems and everyone hides a secret or two."
Here's what the Janta has to say about this film!
#Neeyat develops into becoming an ordinary thriller!

While it boasts of a great Ram Kapoor, a formidable Vidya & an interesting climax.
It gets bogged down by a caricaturist ensemble & dark visuals that make you squint through most of the running time.

A whodunit that looks a bit overdone. It’s like watching boring and self-righteous Vera investigate in Poirot’s colourful settings. Weird as hell. https://t.co/hzBhejIEdk

Weak story ,poor performances, confusion in plot, Vidya Balan overshadowed every one ,doesn't give chance to other actors, very dissatisfied and Dissappointment in climax@vidya_balan#VidyaBalan #neeyat #CriticalRole#threadapp #HappyBirthdayDhoni pic.twitter.com/T8c0qpCNpT
#Neeyat is a wannabe copy of Knives Out!! Abb kahan #DanielCraig as Benoit Blanc, a private detective aur kahan #VidyaBalan as CBI officer Mira Rao. Why can’t Bollywood be original. Writers ka aakal padh gaya hain kya? Barring Vidya, this one is an ensemble of has been actors!!

Neeyat, a whodunit thriller, builds a solid foundation for an engaging story but stumbles in its execution. Despite its promising premise, the film's flawed writing and rushed plot development undermine its potential. The presence of logic loopholes and… pic.twitter.com/FBPHl1BRTT

Rarely you come across a murder mystery where after a point you stop caring about who is the killer. #Neeyat is that boring at heart. WORST performance by #VidyaBalan. Bad script, Bad execution. One song; that too they couldn’t get right. Good visuals.
⭐️½
#Neeyat is an Intriguing Murder mystery that boasts of good performances & interesting twists. Screenplay flows quite slow in the first half but picks up well in second half when mysteries starts getting unfold.. Last 15 mins especially the climax twist is a complete shocker…
