Nirbhaya verdict

On Friday, 20th March 2020, the Nirbhaya verdict saw justice after all the four convicts in the rape and murder of Delhi's medical student, were hanged to death together, giving closure to the horrific case.

One of the most crucial cases of India, the Delhi gangrape case has found closure as the four convicts were hanged to death in Delhi's Tihar jail. The four convicts who were convicted in the rape and murder of a 23-year-old medical student from Delhi were executed this morning putting an end to the horrific chapter. The Supreme Court denied the last-minute plea made by one of the convicts in a midnight hearing. While they were ordered to be hanged on January 22nd the execution was delayed as the convicts had applied for another plea seeking a stay on execution. This time, however, the Nirbhaya verdict was carried out after the four men had exhausted every possibility of legally receiving a pardon for their crimes and couldn't escape the gallows anymore. The verdict was a carried out at 5.30 am on Friday as the four men Akshay Kumar Singh, Pawan Gupta, Vinay Sharma and Mukesh Singh were hanged together for the first time at the Tihar jail.
