BJP MP, Pragya Thakur made a remark on Mahatma Gandhi's assassin Nathuram Godse calling him a 'deshbhakt', and this has sparked a debate among the opposition party members in Parliament.

Pragya Thakur, BJP's first-time MP made a remark on Godse while discussing on the Special Protection Group (Amendment) Bill on Wednesday. She called Mahatma Gandhi's assassin Nathuram Godse a 'Deshbhakt' (patriot) and this has caused a debate among the other members of the Parliament.

Her comment created outrage and the opposition condemned the Lok Sabha. After seeing the outrage the BJP members asked her to not comment further but Congress MPs walked out of Lok Sabha in protest. JP Nadda, the working President of BJP, later said that they do not support her ideology and have removed her from the consultative committee of defence, and she will not be part of any of the parliamentary meetings thereafter. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted, "Terrorist Pragya calls terrorist Godse a patriot. A sad day in the history of India's parliament."

Here is how the members of the Parliament reacted on the remark made by Pragya Thakur:
