Punjab Boy, Fatehveer Singh, a 2-years old toddler from Bhagwanpura village of Sangrur district, fell into a 150 feet deep borewell on Thursday. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) managed to pull him out today morning, but unfortunately he could not survive.
The little boy was apparently playing outside his home, when he fell into the borewell which was covered with just cloth. He could not be provided with food or water, and just had oxygen that was made available. After a five day rescue effort when Fatehveer was pulled out, he was rushed to PGI Chandigarh, where he was declared brought dead.

The Chief Minister of Punjab, Capatin Amarinder Singh also paid his condolences.
Very sad to hear about the tragic death of young Fatehveer. I pray that Waheguru grants his family the strength to bear this huge loss. Have sought reports from all DCs regarding any open bore well so that such terrible accidents can be prevented in the future.

Netizens also expressed their sadness over the loss of an innocent child; they also thought that the govt. could have been more efficient.
I fathom to understand how many #Fatehveer’s it would take our nation to realise the gravity of negligence & callousness in ensuring safer vicinities for the citizens? Lack of safety regulations in workplace, no decorum & no incentives or fines in place. Why awake after a mishap?

Shame… #Fatehveer dies in Punjab state of digital India, where machines are used to form governments and mere hands to save lives. Why no dept. in the whole state is logistically equipped for such accidents ? #punjab #shame #DigitalIndia #AmitShah #BreakingNews #DNA pic.twitter.com/mzey5uYQTR
