The sequel’s first look teases an exciting role reversal that puts Miranda Priestly’s former assistants back in the driver's seat.

The trailer for the much-anticipated sequel Devil Wears Prada 2 has finally been unveiled. The trailer comes a year after the brief teaser that featured Meryl Streep‘s Miranda Priestly and Anne Hathaway‘s Andy Sachs greeting each other in the elevator coldly. The latest preview begins with a quick flashback from the original and goes on to reveal Andy’s return to the Runway office. The snobbish boss lady, who struggles, or pretends perhaps, to recognize her, asks Nigel (Stanley Tucci) if he knows who she is.

While the iconic original film saw Hathaway as a recent graduate who secures a job at the prestigious Runway magazine, working under its particularly demanding editor-in-chief Miranda, the sequel features Miranda and Runway dealing with the challenges of print media in 2026 as she comes into conflict with Emily (Emily Blunt), her former assistant who now walks with an entourage, suggesting her career growth and authority. At the end of the trailer, Andy is also revealed to be the new Features Editor at Runway, promising an exciting tale of change in power equations.

The trailer hits all the right notes as it builds on 2006 nostalgia and evolves into the modern day story where print media is fading. The shift in power equation is a treat to watch. Even after 20 years the chemistry between Streep, Hathaway, Blunt, and Tucci feels just as electric as ever!

The film sees director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna reuniting the original lead cast for the much awaited sequel. While the iconic core ensemble remains the focus, the sequel significantly expands the Runway universe with a powerhouse supporting cast featuring Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, and Lucy Liu. Patrick Brammall, B.J. Novak, Caleb Hearon, Pauline Chalamet, Helen J. Shen, and Conrad Ricamora, joining in the roster. TDWP 2 also brings back Tracie Thoms as Lily and Tibor Feldman as Irv Ravitz, ensuring the new narrative stays rooted in the world fans first fell in love with.

Devil Wears Prada is set to hit the theatres on May 1, 2026.
