Indian cricket has been blessed with many young and talented female players who are setting benchmarks and breaking records for the world to witness. And Indian Cricketer, Shafali Verma is most certainly one of them.
It won't be hard to be amazed by Shafali Verma since she is just 16-years-old and already making a name for herself. With her batting brilliance, she has made it clear that the sport doesn't just belong to the man's world. When playing in nets, it is her bat that does all the talking for her. Hitting every ball like it's her last and giving her best technique, she has made a huge name for herself in the short span of her career.
She began her career in international cricket by entering the Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) in September 2019 against South Africa. Shafali was only fifteen when she played the game, becoming the youngest Indian woman to play international cricket for the country. She has also shattered cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar's age-long record and scored an international half-century against West Indies in November 2019. That also marked Shafali's maiden Test match. In January 2020, she was awarded a central contract by BCCI and also named as a team member to become part of 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup in Australia.
Shefali's undaunting spirit and attitude on the field make her an inspiration to many and certainly a pride for India!
