Shahid Kapoor: The actor who effortlessly shape-shifted into different roles!

Going from playing a boy next door in Ishq Vishk to a hardcore aashiq in Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor has had quite a roller coaster of a journey!

As an actor, it's sometimes difficult to keep switching roles and especially when the actor has been doing well in a particular genre of films. Versatility speaks volumes when it comes to acting and only a few actors in the Indian film industry have aced this! Shahid Kapoor throughout his filmography proves that he's one of them! From getting type casted as the boy next door to choosing films where his true potential was seen, Shahid has come a long way.

He was already breaking records with his debut film Ishq Vishk (2003) where he portrayed a college student which earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. His immense passion for acting didn't stop there. Although he had a few commercial failures like Fida (2004) and Shikhar (2005), he played a prospective groom opposite Amrita Rao in Vivah, a commercially successful family drama that in no time became everyone's favourite. He came back even stronger as Aditya Kashyap in Jab We Met for which he received his first Best Actor nomination at Filmfare. And boy do we want a boyfriend like him!

After portraying the image of the sanskaari beta, we saw him choose different roles. It all started when he started doing films like Kaminey and R Rajkumar where we could see him go from playing the boy next door to the gunda next door. Though I prefer seeing him as Aditya Kashyap, the kind of roles he is playing right now where he is this rugged hardcore guy in love, even that didn't stop me from falling in love with him all over again. I remember days after R Rajkumar came out, I was obsessed with the song Saree Ke Fall Sa and as problematic as the song sounds, it was a bop back then.

After bagging so many films and creating an iconic career in Bollywood, Shahid Kapoor's debut OTT performance, Farzi is currently trending and streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Shahid received a lot of love for this one for its brimming action, dialogue and punches and once again he proved that a good actor should also be shape-shifter when it comes to acting and choosing roles.
