From being a Kukkad Kamal Da to Shershaah, Sidharth Malhotra has had a journey full of ups and downs but he melted many hearts along the way with his main character energy!

As still often mistaken by many, Sidharth Malhotra has absolutely no relation with Bollywood’s go to designer Manish Malhotra. In fact he had no connections in Bollywood at all. He was just a young, extremely good looking guy from Delhi who wanted to be the quintessential hero all of us love swooning over on-screen.

So carrying his big dreams, he shifted to the city that never sleeps, Mumbai. While he started with modelling and of course excelled at that given his height and those “chocolate boy” looks like everyone calls it, soon enough he started working at Dharma Productions. Nope, not as an actor, him along with his soon to be co-star Varun Dhawan assisted Karan Johar, on one of his most iconic films, My Name is Khan. To become an actor, you need to understand every part of this world called filmmaking and working behind the scenes before he made his debut sure was a fulfilling experience for him, as he mentioned in his Koffee with Karan debut episode.

Not many outsiders get to be the lead in a Karan Johar movie and live in that magical world where everything looks perfect and everyone looks flawless even when they wake up in the morning. But he became a living example for us all who dream big that maybe if we believed in our goals, we too can live our Bollywood dreams. Student of the Year gave us three talented debutantes that year and Sidharth was the new crush of tinsel town.

His next film Hasee toh Phasee was another cute rom-com that made all of us fall for him even more. He usually went for silent yet romantic characters who suppressed their feelings internally and he looked great brooding and maybe that just went hand in hand. He went on to give other major hits like Ek Villain, where we saw him in a new avatar in this revenge driven story. Kapoor and Sons was another unconventional yet wholesome film that added versatility to his filmography.

He also faced lows and after a streak of not doing well at the box office and being labeled as “just a model face”, he worked hard and rose to fame again in 2021 with the biopic of Captain Vikram Batra in Shershaah. A film that received not only some love from the audience but also a lot of critical acclaim. It soon went on to become ‘the film that made him’.

He now will be seen as a spy in Mission Majnu, a cop in Rohit Shetty’s web series, Indian Police Force which will also be his debut in the OTT world.

A journey no less than a movie itself, we wish Sidharth Malhotra a very happy birthday!
