Here’s to the team at Social Ketchup Magazine that continues to celebrate the creator economy, one story at a time!

What makes every publication stand out, whether it's fierce, entertaining, informative, or trendsetting? It's the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring each story to life.

Discovering and reading up on stories that add value to our daily lives is like discovering a flavor that satisfies an insatiable craving for knowledge, even in a world oversaturated with content. Social Ketchup magazine, born during the lockdown as a passion project by our Editor-in-Chief, Mrinil Mathur, has grown into a vibrant platform that’s celebrating its fifth anniversary this year and contributing to people’s knowledge of what the creator economy means. It is a magazine dedicated to sharing stories about the growing creator economy, which is transforming how people consume entertainment, and has become a hub for influencers, bloggers, and content creators. While many look forward to hearing their stories, it is the people behind the magazine who ensure they reach the masses.

It might sound like a brag that SK Magazine has covered nearly 700 stories across 45 editions, featuring 60 creators on the cover. And it was made possible because of our exceptional team of writers, designers, editors, and cinematographers! This team has been able to bring every colourful, thoughtful, insightful and informative stories that became impactful pieces of content. As the writers are dedicated to dissect the whats and hows of the creator economy while making sure include every creator's perspectives on what this online world entails, the designers and videos graphers add their colourful visions to it.

This journey has been just as exciting for the team as it has been for the creators featured in the magazine, which celebrates their voices. From those who have been involved from its inception to those who joined along the way, each individual has their own unique story to tell.

Shachi Lavingia, Associate Editor, "With every edition we've put together, how I see the world keeps shifting ever so slightly. While the creator economy sounds frivolous to most people, over the years, the creators I've interviewed for this magazine have pushed me to embrace different perspectives on work, life and everything in between. Watching every edition come together while learning a thing or two - this makes all the hustle worth it."

Smrithi Mohan, Senior Correspondent,I’m not a parent, but I imagine that watching Social Ketchup Magazine grow feels somewhat similar. It’s strange to say that I’ve been there from the beginning. I remember when the idea for the magazine was first discussed during a Zoom meeting, and I wondered how we would bring it to life. Now, five years and 45 editions later, it still feels surreal. Working for SK Magazine has provided me with a deeper, more nuanced understanding of the world we live in. What may seem like a simple task, just picking up a camera to shoot, actually has a much greater impact than one might expect. I learned this through the stories we worked on together.”

Sakshi Sharma, Correspondent, "I’ll be honest, before I started writing for SK Magazine, I had no idea what  “creator economy” was. But from 2020 to 2025, I’ve seen it grow right in front of me. What once felt like people casually sharing glimpses of their lives online has now become a thriving profession. It’s not just about creativity, strategy or numbers but about aesthetics and community, about a voice and meaningful connections. And most amazingly, it inspires everyone to try their hand at creating, even if just once, to be part of the story."

Piyush Singh, Correspondent, “When I first joined Social Ketchup Magazine as an intern, I had no idea where to start. Covering the content creator economy, which was just beginning to take off, felt overwhelming, especially knowing that not many publications were covering it in such depth. But along the way, I discovered the joy in exploring and trying new things, learning from others, and seeing how different people think and create. It’s been three years of working with such an interesting bunch of people who, on most days, give you the space to do your own thing, and on other days, jump in with their ideas and make mine even better.

Looking back at my earlier stories, I can see how much I’ve grown, yet the curiosity and excitement of chasing a new idea never goes away. I still ask myself a number of questions when I take on something risky, but that’s all part of the fun. I can’t believe it’s already been three years of writing stories I love.”

Aishwarya Srinivasan, Correspondent, "As someone who grew up watching early 2000s rom-coms like ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’, ‘13 Going on 30’ or ‘Devil Wears Prada’, working as a writer for a magazine felt like a dream. It was an idea I totally romanticised in my head. The stories, the cover shoots, the brainstorming and ideation behind it all fascinated me from a young age. So when I started working for the Social Ketchup Magazine almost 4 years ago, it made the young adult in me feel so validated. It gave me an opportunity to work on the kind of stories I felt deeply for and more than anything, see my name inside a magazine. I felt like I was Aisha from Wake Up Sid when she saw her name in the Mumbai Beat for the first time! But working here also taught me that there’s a lot more to a magazine than I think! It’s tons of back and forth for getting responses on time, meeting deadlines and making sure I am contributing to something meaningful every edition. While it’s had its ups and downs, it’s an experience of a lifetime and I will always be grateful for that!"

Molshree, Senior Correspondent,
It feels like an anecdote-studded lookback at Social Ketchup Magazine’s growth. And, just like how the ‘creators’ economy’ and social media trends have been the warp and weft in the magazine, I feel that the stories and interview know-how have given me an edge as well in understanding this buzzing space even better.”

Gurleen Bhuppal, Social Media Lead
"Working at Social Ketchup Magazine has been an absolute rollercoaster in the best way! As the social media lead, I get to experiment with trends, create quirky content, and turn chaotic shoots into something exciting with our fun social media activities. I love working closely with creators, seeing their vision come to life, and knowing our work helps amplify their stories. From brainstorming fresh ideas to keeping the team on top of the shoot chaos, every moment is full of creativity, surprises, and fun and I wouldn’t have it any other way!"

Yashvi Shah, Content Strategist, "Working on SK Magazine concepts has been a mix of creativity and discovery. I love seeing ideas come alive from the on-ground chaotic scenes to the final polished edition. It’s in those moments that I get to be fully creative, while also learning so much about the creator economy and the people shaping it. Every edition feels like capturing a piece of culture in real time, and that’s what makes this journey so exciting!"

Sonali Tewari, Lead Brand Solutions, "Being part of the SK Magazine team has been a good learning experience. I’ve especially enjoyed the process of planning and conceptualising covers thinking about the theme, the looks, and how it connects with the creator we feature. With each edition I understand how the creator economy works and how creators influence trends and conversations in today’s digital world.

Every SK edition has been a reminder of the power growing creator economy & It’s inspiring to contribute to a platform that celebrates creators."

Jeet Mandviya, Video Editor and Cinematographer, "As a video editor and cinematographer, I’ve got to see the real hustle behind the scenes. It’s taught me a lot about how the creator economy works and how much effort goes into even the smallest content. Every shoot has been a learning, and it feels great to be part of something so creative.”

Ruma Biswas, Graphic Designer, "When I joined Social Ketchup Magazine as an experienced designer, I thought I had a solid grasp of the creator economy—but this journey reshaped my perspective. I’ve seen how a single idea, when nurtured with passion, can spark conversations and build communities. Each story we publish reminds me that creators aren’t just making content they’re shaping culture. What I’ve learned is that curiosity and creativity go hand in hand, and growth often comes from experimenting fearlessly. Being part of this journey has been exciting, and I feel proud to contribute to a space that celebrates voices with impact."

Khushi Rai, Marketing Executive, "Being part of Social Ketchup Magazine has truly been a fun and rewarding experience. As someone who handles social media, the opportunity to connect closely with creators and see the effort that goes into their work have been endless, something that I have come to appreciate even more.
