Victim, which has an ensemble cast was released on SonyLIV on August 5. Let’s find out what the Janta thought of the series!
Victim-Who is next? Is an anthology of Tamil short films that talks about various different issues that our society faces today. There are four stories by four directors and four different conclusions that we get to watch. Starting with Dhammam directed by Pa. Ranjith, which mirrors the reality of the unending violence against Dalits in rural Tamil Nadu, the second one is Confession, directed by Venkat Prabhu which is a psychological thriller where a media professional finds herself at the end of a sniper by someone who wants to hold her accountable for the decisions that she has made.
Next comes Mirrage, directed by M. Rajesh, which is a story about how a girl who works for an IT company, comes to Chennai for a presentation and checks herself in an isolated guesthouse on the city’s outskirts. With jump scares and plot twists, it sort of looks like a horror movie but tries to give a much deeper message to the audience by the end of it. The last anthology is Kottai Pakku Vathalum Mottai Maadi Sitharum directed by Chimbudevan. The story revolves around a journalist who in order to save his job has to interview a sage who is 400 years old and returns to our world once in half a century. Since it was said that the sage will return amidst the pandemic, the journalist gets ready to interview him. Once he agrees to do it, the conversation between them reflects on the problems that Tamil Nadu is facing and also the pandemic.
Prassana, Amala Paul, Guru Somasundaram, and Thambi Ramaiah play leads in these short films amongst many others.

Out of the four short stories, Dhammam seems to have garnered the most attention from the Janta, but let’s have a look at everything that they had to say!
#Dhammam is another arresting👌drama from @beemji about the default nature of some belonging to dominant caste groups who pile on destruction blinded by hate turning themselves into irrational animals instead of logical reasoning to solve a problem.

#VictimOnSonyLIV was an interesting watch - Ranjith shows how we are victimised by honour - Chimbudevan narrates how we are a victim of our beliefs - Rajesh's story is about a victim of medical issue while VP's story is about victims of mistaken identity - Short & Well thought pic.twitter.com/UruHHwevu9

#VictimOnSonyLIV - 💯 Boring and not even one exciting episode from prominent directors and actors... Everything was below par and poor writing.

I still can't get my mind off #Dhammam from #VictimOnSonyLIV

I wonder how Pa. Ranjith conceived and made it. The best Tamil OTT content I ever watched. You are a true cinema lover and a genius @beemji ! I can't appreciate you enough! pic.twitter.com/Pd07CiAh9b
@beemji has once again proved his might. #Dhammam is the only short among the anthology #VictimOnSonyLIV that has justified the title. While other stories also has victimised characters, #Dhammam attacks the existing social structures and starts a conversation. Kudos to the team! pic.twitter.com/Jpbxyn3uzt

#Dhammam

Story is devoid of thriller cliches like eerie nights, mysterious murders and template sound effects. Instead this thriller set on a sunny day, feels like a beautiful short story that makes you think of compassion and what it means to different people!#VictimOnSonyLIV pic.twitter.com/fAthv60tMe
#Dhammam is the BEST in the #Victim anthology. While dirs @chimbu_deven, Rajesh & @vp_offl has built narratives that were highly dependant on the climax twist to reveal the actual victim, @beemji pulled off an episode of caste violence and hit the bull's eye.#VictimOnSonyLIV pic.twitter.com/489IKoGDGH

Watched #VictimOnSonyLIV.

Dhamman by Pa Ranjith. Brilliantly shot, conceptualised and executed raw. Ranjith proves that he is a legit craftsman with or without politics. There was pure tension in few scenes (of a 30 mins movie) and it was horrifying.
#VictimOnSonyLIV was engaging for me.. each episode was unique and had different plots.. I liked @priya_Bshankar acting.. seems to be different from her previous roles.. @chimbu_deven urs all 4 climax was nice.. @Amala_ams role was bold one.. @vp_offl @beemji @RajeshMSelva

I have watched it in Hindi.
Must watch💥💥@SonyLIV Great series 👍💯
Saw #Dhammam, @beemji's short in #VictimOnSonyLIV. One hell of a chaotic event, yet it has an underlying message. It's like he can never make a bad film.

If violence is a sin, then blind violence towards race, caste, religion, language, and other discriminations are even more worsen than sin.

Violence should not be practiced.
Dhammam by @beemji 💙✨#Dhammam #Victim #VictimOnSonyLIV pic.twitter.com/lzN6zNXynF
#Dhammam is one well-made craft of art. Right from the premise to the sound design, the movie pulls you in & traverses through the intricacies of the human psyche which is basically animalistic. @beemji delivers a gem & kudos to @SonyLIV & whole team!#Victim #VictimOnSonyLIV

The problem with @chimbu_deven's #KottaiPaakuVathalumMottaiMaadiSitharum is that it confuses getting conned and being victimised. Inspired from #Vikatan layoff issue and the director being an ex employee, this issue has been made fun (could work as dark humor). #VictimOnSonyLIV pic.twitter.com/qapP0Lscyz
— Ilyas (@mariyaanX) August 6, 2022
#VictimOnSonyLIV all 4 films are cast well. Venkatprabhu, Ranjith and Chimbudevan's films are watchable. Rajesh's film was disappointting. I liked venkat Prabhu's film more followed by chimbudevan's. Ranjith's film conveys good message.
