Coachella 2023

Coachella 2023 is all about South Asian representation as South Asian artists Diljit Dosanjh, Ali Sethi, and more performed at the music festival.

Coachella is an established and popular music festival that manages to be iconic in every way. Every year we see popular celebs attend the event that has various established, emerging musical artists and reunited groups perform at the two-weekend festival. It is one of the largest, most famous, and most profitable music festivals in the United States and the world. This year's headliners for Coachella 2023 had some South Asian artists and it made fans super proud, excited and crazy about it.

Diljit Dosanjh made history by becoming the first Indian singer to perform at the festival. Dressed in an all-black kurta-tamba set, turban and yellow gloves the singer-actor gave a groundbreaking performance on his top hits 'Patiala Peg', G.O.A.T, Born To Shine, 'Lemonade' among few while he asked people who may not understand him to just vibe with him. Another artist who made history by performing live for the first time was Jai Paul. The British Indian singer-songwriter-producer performed his hits “BTSTU,” Str8 Outta Mumbai,” “Higher Res,” “Crush", and other tracks after fans have been anticipating for his live performance for a long time now. Scottish-Gujarati singer Charli XCX was also the headliner on Saturday and performed on her songs “Boys,” “I Love It,” “Gone,” “Vroom Vroom,” among other tracks. She set the whole stage on fire with her steamy and down right killer performance along with Troy Sivan.

On Sunday, Pakistani singer-songwriter Ali Sethi performed his populars and left the fans in total awe. He also performed his song Pasoori along with Indian-American rapper Raja Kumari. The evening then saw Joy Crookes, a British Bangladeshi Irish singer groove to her song Feet Dont Fail Me Now, among her other popular tracks. Followed by a dazzling performance by Bangladeshi American, Jai Wolf, who made his comeback with his single after three years, Want It All (feat. Evalyn). Fans we super excited for this year's line-up and have been sharing their reactions and excitement online.
