When summer time knocks on the door, it brings a different kind of feeling for everyone. Some rejoice while some somber, for some its their much awaited mango season and for some its time wonder about their dream bodies, yet again. Youngsters look forward to relishing their month long vacation whereas other people dread experiencing sweat fueled inconvenience and crankiness.

While summers bring a mixture of feelings, it's scorching heat is the same for all -old or young, everyone needs to stay harbored from the ill effects of it on health and a person’s well being. Especially with temperature rising every passing day. According to recent reports, out of 15 hottest cities in the world, 10 cities belong to India, with Rajasthan's Churu reaching 50.3 degrees. It is of prime importance that we take special care this season to go through the summer shining like the sunshine.

  1. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER:

Water is nothing short of a magic concoction for a human’s body. The heat and sweat during summer time can lead to dryness both externally and internally. A well hydrated body is potent to function well, keeping illness away and adds glow to your skin and helps your mind in functioning well.

2. ALOE FROM THE OTHER SIDE

You can and you must treat Aloe Vera as a summertime staple as it has multiple number of benefits, such as, hydrates dry skin, heals cuts and allergies, and prevents you from sunburn.

Drinking aloevera juice or just consuming naturally helps in improving the digestive health. It is also the summer go-to skin relief with its antioxidantal properties.

3. TIME TO GO ALL LIGHT AND LOOSE

Summer affair is one where less is more. Going all loose clothed is preferred ; Cotton T- shirts, shorts, linen, flared dresses come to the aid and prevent us from too much sweating or skin rashes. Cotton is most liked during summers because it can absorb moisture (sweat) and make you feel cool. Light colors are pleasant and soothing. Accessories such as sunglasses and hats are recommended to protect you from excessive sun exposure.

4. BATHE THE HEAT OFF

Taking a cold shower after a long and tiring day in the heat outdoors feels nothing less than bringing a dead person back to life. You feel cool and clean. It is advisable to bathe atleast two times a day to stay away from infections and diseases.

5. POP THE PEPPERMINT REMEDY

Peppermint has cooling properties as it contains menthol in it. Brew a bowl of peppermint tea, leave it to cool in your fridge for a few hours and once its nice and cold, pour it in a spray bottle and mist it over yourself. Due to the persistence of menthol in it, you will experience a tingly feeling, leaving you relaxed and rejuvenated.

6. ICE PACKS FOR COOLING/PRESSURE POINTS

This technique is highly effective in moments of high body temperature due to the scorching sun. Our body has fever cooling points like near the neck, wrist , feet etc. When you apply ice or anything cool on these pulse points, it immediately sends signals to your brain and lowers down your body temperature.

7. EXERCISE AT THE RIGHT HOURS

9. BREAK THE MEALS

Smaller meals are preferred at regular intervals during summers. Our digestive system uses metabolic heat to break down food and if you are having larger meals, more heat is produced to be used, thus body warms up easily. So, smaller portions can help you feel cooler and lighter.
