While the network did not specify the reason to end the show, it is said premier along with the midseason lineup in 2021.
Scheduled to begin earlier, the production of the series was also delayed due to the limitations brought upon by the pandemic. Repost from from @melissabenoist “To say it has been an honor portraying this iconic character would be a massive understatement. Seeing the incredible impact the show has had on young girls around the world has always left me humbled and speechless. She’s had that impact on me, too. She’s taught me strength I didn’t know I had, to find hope in the darkest of places, and that we are stronger when we’re united. What she stands for pushes all of us to be better. She has changed my life for the better, and I’m forever grateful. I’m so excited that we get to plan our conclusion to this amazing journey, and I cannot wait for you to see what we have in store. I promise we’re going to make it one helluva final season. ♥️ el mayarah 💪”
The show stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers (Kara Zor-El), David Harewood as the Martian Manhunter (J’onn J’onzz), Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Nicole Maines as Dreamer, Jesse Rath as Brainiac-5 and more.

they just have to make supercorp canon because there aren‘t any obstacles between them anymore. in s2 there was kara‘s bf, s3-4 lena‘s bf, in s4 finale lena finds out kara‘s sg, in s5 is the angst and reconciliation and then in s6 supercorp endgame. #Supergirl #Supercorp pic.twitter.com/e3Mp1XM4vt
