Keeping aside Kajol's fans who are elated to watch her on OTT, the Janta has mixed reviews for the The Trial.
The Trial is an Indian adaptation of the American legal drama The Good Wife, which aired on CBS from 2009 to 2016. The series follows Noyonika Sengupta (Kajol), a housewife who resumes her career as a lawyer after her husband Rajiv (Jisshu Sengupta), a judge, is arrested for corruption and sexual misconduct. Noyonika balances her personal and professional life while dealing with media scrutiny, the legal system, and her husband’s betrayal. The show started streaming on Disney+ Hotstar last Friday and after the first weekend, here is the reaction from the Janta on the show!
It's no doubt that Kajol's fans are going gaga all over Twitter about her look, dialogues, and acting skills but there were many who loved the supporting cast of the show, especially Kubbra Sait, Alyy Khan, and Sheeba Chaddha. While there were praises of the show for its adaptation, dialogues, scenes, acting, and more, there were some who didn't like the show or didn't enjoy it fully as a courtroom drama.

Idk why nobody is talking about @Alyy Khan. His character Vishal in #TheTrial deserves applause. This character really stood out to me and I really felt pity for him at last.

I have seen and loved The Good Wife whose Indianised remake #TheTrial is. @itsKajolD is fantastic as a fiery mother and lawyer. @AlyyKhan06 gives a very competent performance.
But, the courtroom scenes lack and are not as convincing. Overall it's still a good watch.
