Mere Husband Ki Biwi trailer

Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Rakul Preet Singh are in a love circle, not triangle, in Mudassar Aziz’s rom-com ride titled ‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’!

An announcement that was as surprising as the trailer itself, Mere Husband Ki Biwi, directed by Mudassar Aziz and starring Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Rakul Preet Singh, seems like a promising comical ride that isn't afraid to be laughing satirically at its own self. It feels like a self-aware comedy that sets up the interesting line of the cast where it cleverly plays into the stereotypes associated with the actors only to subvert them entertainingly.

Even though the film's announcement and the makers lead us to expect it to be a cliché rom-com formula like Pati Patni Aur Woh yet the trailer wastes no time in proving those assumptions wrong. Within the first 20 seconds, we get a glimpse of Arjun, Bhumi, and Rakul’s characters, each introduced with a satirical voiceover. Bhumi is labelled as the actress who always plays a patni (wife), Rakul as the quintessential sexy babe, and Arjun as the often-criticized “stone-faced” actor.

What follows is an equally inviting premise as Ankur (Arjun), who was previously married to Prablin (Bhumi), gets entangled in a mess when Prablin suffers from retrograde amnesia following an accident and forgets that she and Ankur have already parted ways. But the twist in the tale is that Ankur is now set to marry Rakul's character, which ensues in comedic chaos as the laugh-out-loud conflict turns into a game between the two women, who seem to be at loggerheads with each other to get Ankur with no one willing to back down!

What stands out in the trailer is the film's ability to poke fun at its own actors, especially when comedian Harsh Gujral jibes at Arjun's role in Singham Again (2024), hinting at the film’s self-deprecating charm. Visually, the film carries Mudassar Aziz’s signature bright and lively tone, reminiscent of his previous directorial ventures like Happy Bhaag Jayegi and Pati Patni Aur Woh.

Yet Mere Husband Ki Biwi's trailer surprises us pleasantly with its sharp-witted writing, lively humour, engaging premise and effortless charm. This love circle unfolds on February 21, 2025, and if the trailer is any indication, audiences are in for a fun-filled ride.
