Proving how hard it is to get rid of habits, Modi's wave to literally nobody at the inauguration of Atal Tunnel has the Twitter cracking.
The Atal Tunnel, which is a 9.02 km long tunnel between Manali and Leh was recently inaugurated. The highway tunnel built under the Rohtang Pass in the eastern Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas is named after former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari. It also happens to be the longest tunnel build above 10,000 feet in the world. However, it is not the tunnel that left people talking about our PM. PM Narendra Modi who inaugurated the tunnel kept up with his ritual and encouraged new memes on Twitter.
Guess, it is practically hard for the PM to stop waving and greet people when he is at an event. While it is something as he usually does, it caught attention this time has he was actually waving at nobody as there was no one present. The Corona guidelines had restricted people from gathering in crowds and therefore there were very few of the officials who were present at the event.
