#ThankYou trends on Twitter as citizens from around the country celebrate National Doctor’s Day, by expressing gratitude to the doctors who have rendered their services selflessly to the nation.

July 1 is celebrated in India as ‘National Doctor’s Day’ to salute the iconic and a well-known medical practitioner, Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy who served as a physician, a freedom fighter, an educationist- taught medicine at his alma mater as Vice-Chancellor and a politician- serving as West Bengal’s second Chief Minister from 1948-1962.

He was also conferred with Bharat Ratna award in 1961 for his exceptional public services in the field of medicine and politics.

In the times of COVID-19, doctors around the world have put their profession and the health of citizens before anything else. They have been tirelessly working for months now and deserve every inch of respect and cooperation from all of us. Let’s take a moment to thank these life-saving angels for their sacrifice and services.
