Kabir Singh is the official remake of the Telugu blockbuster called, Arjun Reddy. While the original starrer Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in the lead roles, the remake is all set with the fresh pairing of Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. The lead pair may have changed, Arjun Reddy’s director, Sandeep Vanga has been brought on board for the Hindi installment too.
The trailer gives us a peek into the high on drama life of Kabir Singh who is generally high. The sneak peek is a treat for all of Shahid’s fans as they get to witness the actor pull-off a full-spectrum with this character. From an exceptional student to an angry, self-destructive man, Kabir’s journey from a man in love to one destroyed by the loss of it is commendable. Although, it will remind you of the drug-addict, high-as-a-kite, Tommy Singh from Udta Punjab, also played by Shahid Kapoor. Although that’s where the similarity ends, unlike Tommy, Kabir is angry - at his fate, the world and for some reason even his ‘bai’. Filmmaker Sandeep Vanga who also directed the original - Arjun Reddy, is helming this one as well and it reflects in the trailer.
Kiara Advani is the stunning lead opposite Shahid in the film aka the root of all his suffering. You can’t help but notice how her character is overshadowed by Shahid but then again, the film isn’t called ‘Preeti’, is it? They share decent chemistry and might pull-it-off well. The trailer also gives us glimpses of Arjan Bajwa as Shahid’s concerned friend.
