One of the world's most prestigious events aka Met Gala is one that the fashion world looks forward to! This will be taking place next month and here's everything you need to know about it! The Met had suffered for the last two years due to the pandemic and while it was held online for a year, the event was postponed to September last year. This year, the event is scheduled to be held at its usual time and will be held on May 2!
The Met Gala or the Met Ball as it's also referred to is an event that celebrates fashion and it's held every year to honor the Metropolitan Museum of Art's costume institute and its spring exhibit opening. The Met Gala also serves as a fundraiser for the MET and is all overseen by legendary Vogue EIC Anna Wintour.
Last year, eight months after the Gala of 2021, the Metropolitan Museum of Art had announced that it would return with a second installment of the Met Gala 2021 theme - "In America." The theme for Met Gala 2022 will be “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” which the New York Times has classified as this year's theme "Guilded Glamour." This means that we get to see more gold, glitter, and double the glamour on the red carpet.
The event will be hosted by Anna Wintour, Regina King, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Lin-Manuel Miranda will serve as the 2022 co-chairs. While the guestlist hasn't been officially released yet we can expect all the top stars on the carpet. Like every year, the Gala has kept it a secret and will not be revealed until the stars arrive on the red carpet.
