ISRO has spotted the Vikram Lander on the lunar surface and India is sharing their excitement one tweet at a time.

India's lunar mission, Chadrayaan 2 had the world's attention ever since it took off. From scientists to space enthusiasts to every little kid, everyone was waiting with hope to witness this monumental event. However, ISRO lost communication with Vikram Lander of Chandrayaan 2 only minutes before its expected landing time on the lunar surface. The news left everyone, especially, the scientists who had worked so hard on the mission.

ISRO's team confirmed the sad news with this Tweet:

Everyone sent in messages and Tweets sharing how proud they were of ISRO and that it wasn't a failure but learning. People were sad but proud of the feat that the country's space research organization had achieved even though they had lost contact with Vikram Lander. The video of Prime Minister Modi consoling ISRO Chairman, K Sivan went viral.

This tweet by Shekhar Kapoor says it all:

But it's not over yet! We have renewed hope and a reason to celebrate as ISRO has spotted the Vikram Lander on the lunar surface!

K Sivan, Chairman of ISRO stated, “We have found the location of Vikram Lander on lunar surface and orbiter has clicked a thermal image of Lander. But there is no communication yet. We are trying to have contact. It will be communicated soon."

Even though contact hasn't been established with the Vikram Lander yet, it was enough to lift the spirits of all Indians including the Twitterati:

Based on the expected life of the battery on Vikram Lander (14 days) which is carrying the Pragyan Rover, the team at ISRO has 12 more days to establish contact with it. Here's hoping for the best.
