Starring Jenna Ortega and Catherine Zeta-Jones, the Wednesday trailer looks like a grisly high school drama that’s set to release this fall!

The Wednesday trailer gives us a first preview of what goes on inside the mind of the famous Addams family teen and how she ‘takes a stab’ at being social in her new high school. Directed by the legend of gothic fantasy and horror films, Tim Burton, makes his comeback with his spin-off version of the Addams family. After changing eight schools in five years, it’s clear that Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) is having a tough time understanding how normal teenagers function. She has very extreme reactions to every situation she encounters. Case in point: after her brother Pugsley Addams (Isaac Ordonez) is bullied by the water polo team, she leaves deadly Piranhas in the swimming pool to get back at them. She does this with zero remorse.

Wednesday is then sent to Nevermore Academy – a high school that her parents, Gomez (Luis Guzman) and Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) passed out from and also one where she could be happy amongst peers who are as twisted as her. A place where she can channel her skills in a better way; her desire to stab people quickly turns into her learning fencing. Nevermore Academy, according to Wednesday is “a nightmare full of mystery, mayhem, and murder” so it goes without saying that she’s going to love it there.

Gwendoline Christie looks like she’s going to be seen as the principal of the ghoulish, Nevermore Academy. Victor Dorobantu plays the disembodied hand servant. Jamie McShane, Percy Hynes White, Hunter Doohan, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Naomi J Ogawa, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, and Riki Lindhome will also be seen playing pivotal roles in the series.
