The K-pop scene has been buzzing over the past few days and here’s a whirlwind of news that's sure to thrill fans!
Last week was uncertain and restless to say the least and amidst all of the chaos, the K-pop world is giving us all the positivity and happiness that we need right now! India’s pop sensation Diljit Dosanjh collaborated with K-pop idol Jackson Wang and Indian K-pop fans have been over the moon ever since the song came out. During Operation Sindoor and the war that followed, two rival K-pop fandoms, the BTS Army and Blinks, united to tackle the misinformation spread on social media. Hybe, which is BTS’ production house, is in talks of building another office in a country that they’ve never explored before and speculations are Mumbai could be on their map. This obviously left Indian fans wondering what the future holds for them in terms of getting more K-pop groups here to hold concerts!

Diljit Dosanjh and Jackson Wang collaborate for ‘Buck’
It’s not often when we see an Indian artist collaborate with a K-pop idol, so when that happens we make sure it’s celebrated in all its glory. Diljit Dosanjh and Jackson Wang from GOT 7 collaborated for their new song Buck. The song consists of K-pop and Punjabi rap and it was rather unexpected to see both the languages go so well together. While the song is based on dark themes, both the artists bring the A game to the music video!
BTS’ production house Hybe might be building an office in Mumbai
Hybe, the American music label that entered the K-pop scene by taking over BTS’ Bighit music, is now looking to expand its horizon in India. In a recent interview with Yeonhap entertainment, Hybe’s spokesperson mentioned that they’re constantly doing market research on where they can build a franchise next and India definitely makes it to the list. Indian BTS Army wonder what this means in terms of just feeling one step closer to the K-pop super group given that we have often been kept out of world tour lists in the past.
BTS Armys and Blackpink’s Blinks unite to call out misinformation on social media
Amidst all the misinformation from both sides during Operation Sindoor and its aftermath, it became almost impossible to figure what’s real and what’s fake. Hence rival K-pop group fandoms BTS Armys and Blinks took it upon themselves to eradicate any misinformation that had been circulating on social media. It wouldn’t be the first time K-pop fans gathered for a good cause, so much so that they ended up being on the news.

Tom Cruise to make a guest appearance on Run Seok-Jin next week
Run BTS, which is BTS’ variety game show, is currently being carried forward by Jin all alone. The show currently goes by the name Run Seok-Jin and we see him go through a new game in each of the episodes. Since the past few months, with the show gaining popularity, a lot of guest appearances have occurred especially when actors are on a promotional schedule. We’ve seen K-drama actors like Park Hyung-Sik also make their debut on the show and in the upcoming week we have Tom Cruise who’ll be seen playing games with Jin. To see two popular faces from different fields come together is exciting enough, but the fact that Korean shows these days have become a hub for Hollywood promotions also makes us all realize the power the Korean wave actually holds these days.
IU announces her comeback with a music video that’ll star Cha Eun-Woo along with her
IU’s agency EDAM Entertainment confirmed that the singer will be releasing a new album this month. They also confirmed that ASTRO’s Cha Eun-Woo would be appearing in IU’s new music video. Fans are rather excited to see the two K-pop idols together and already have their theories for the music video!
Well, that wraps up our K-pop updates! See you next week with some more news from around the globe.
