Sitaare Zameen Par marks Aamir Khan's return to the silver screen after his 2022 Box Office debacle Laal Singh Chaddha. The film is directed by R.S. Prasanna

A remake of the 2018 Spanish film Champions, Sitaare Zameen Par’s trailer shows Aamir Khan's character unwillingly training a team of intellectually challenged players. The trailer introduces Khan's character as an aggressive and politically incorrect man shown to be driving under the influence of intoxicants. He gets caught by the cops and is then presented in court where the judge orders him to train a basketball team of specially-abled individuals as a punishment.

By the look of the trailer, the film appears to have been handled with sensitivity, and by casting actors with down syndrome the makers have also remained sincere to the cause of the film. Khan's journey with the team and his transformation seem to be the central theme of the movie which is expected to be presented in a heartwarming and entertaining manner. At the heart of it, the film challenges societal ideas of 'normalcy' and inclusion, highlighting the idea that everyone deserves dignity and an opportunity to shine, giving the audience a much-needed slice-of-life story.

The film also stars Genelia Deshmukh, who plays Khan's love interest, Dolly Ahluwalia, Gurpal Singh, and Brijendra Kala in prominent roles. Sitaare Zameen Par is produced by Aamir Khan Productions it will be coming to a theatre near you on June 20, 2025.
