The fever of fashion and cinema has taken over the world as the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is underway at the French Riviera.
The glamour extravaganza has been a star-studded affair with the who's who of the entertainment industry from across the world gracing the event in various capacities. Day 3 of the event was no different however, it was special from India's point of view as it was marked by a considerable presence of Bollywood celebrities like Nitanshi Goel, Chhaya Kadam, Anupam Kher, and Jacqueline Fernandez. While this year marked the Cannes debut for Goel and Kher, it was Kadam and Fernandez' second appearance at the festival. Besides them, Iris Mittenaere, Diane Kruger, and Irina Shayk too took on the red carpet last evening.
Here's what else took place on Day 3!
17-year-old Nitanshi Goel of Laapataa Ladies walked the red carpet in a strapless black and gold gown, designed by the fashion label Jade by Monica and Karishma. The outfit was a beautiful ode to Indian craftsmanship, as it intertwined kasab embroidery with intricate macrame detailing.
For her second look, Goel wore a traditional white lehenga with her hairstyle paying tribute to the icons of Indian cinema.

Anupam Kher also made his Cannes Film Festival debut this year. The veteran actor looked dapper in a black tuxedo which he paired with a white shirt and black bow. He walked the red carpet for the film Two Prosecutors. He will also attend the screening of his upcoming movie Tanvi The Great on May 17.
Jacqueline Fernandez also attended Cannes 2025 for the Red Sea panel.
After winning hearts for her performance in Laapataa Ladies and All We Imagine As Light, Chhaya Kadam attended the festival this year as well for the screening of her film Snow Flower.
Former Miss Universe and French TV personality Iris Mittenaere kept it classy with her soft waves and elegant black gown.
Diane Kruger defined glamour in a custom-made powder blue sequin dress by Prada with Fred Paris jewelry. She was present to attend the premiere of Dossier 137 (Case 137).
Supermodel Irina Shayk served gothic glamour in her Elie Saab Haute Couture gown and statement silver jewellery. She rounded-of her looks with bold sheer gloves and a striking red lipstick that added more drama to the outfit.
On the cinema front, day 3 saw screenings of 8 films - Dossier 137, Sirât, Amrum, A Pale View of Hills, The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo, The Wonderers, and Dalloway. The festival's official Instagram account, shared posters and jists of the films and posted - "The quest is at the heart of the films presented today. In Competition, Case 137 plunges into an investigation within the IGPN and Sirât leads on the tracks of the Moroccan desert. Un Certain regard sees the search for truth haunt A pale view of hills, and revenge take center stage in The Myterious Gaze of the Flamingo. Cannes Première takes us on a quest for identity with Amrum. The day will close with two screenings: The Wonderers in the Special Screening, on the subject of disability within the family, and Dalloway in the Midnight Screening, questioning the excesses of artificial intelligence in artistic creation."
