From major casting announcements to new teasers and trailers released, last week had tons in store for us from the world of entertainment!
Last week had two major trailer releases from Metro In Dino to the second part of Wicked For Goodbut apart from these there was also an announcement of Deepika Padukone's new project with Atlee and Allu Arjun and Rajkummar Rao's new violent avatar seen in Maalik's teaser. And that's not all we got to see! Academy Award nominee actors Margot Robbie and Collin Farell's new film's trailer also unveiled along with Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor's film teaser which offered a first look of their romantic drama. As the announcement of Netflix and BalajiTelefilms joining hands came forward, there was also the news of Mia Goth joining Ryan Gosling for Star Wars: Starfighter.

Renuka Shahane’s Marathi animated short heads to NYIFF
Veteran actor and now also a third time director, Renuka Shahane’s latest Marathi animated short film, Loop Line has been selected for the New York Indian Film Festival in 2025. The film explores themes of womanhood, patriarchy, and mental rebellion and follows a woman who navigates a mundane reality by escaping into fantasies, demonstrating a form of mental rebellion against societal expectations. This marks an exciting chapter for Marathi animation on a global platform as the film is a part of Shorts B presented on on June 21. The curated selection of powerful short films also features - Memories of a Kiss directed by Aakash Prabhakar, Harsh Agarwal, and Aditya Grover, Hush-hush directed by Manahar Kumar, A night After All starring Ratna Pathak Shah and directed by Anshul Agarwal, As Dusk Falls directed by Jaskirat Singh, Thursday Special directed by Varun Tandon, and The Cycle directed by Arpita Mukherjee.

With an exciting line-up which includes an untitled series in advanced stages of development, this collaboration will deliver new stories in formats tailor-made for streaming audiences.
