With the celebration of Diwali and the aftermath of the festival, the last week had a lot for us, from cricket matches to Diwali parties, and so much more, here is a quick roundup of all that happened! 

The last week that started on a high note with all the festivities of Diwali doubled up as India won the semi-finals of the ICC Men's World Cup and made a place for itself in the finals. But while as high as we started the week, that low we finished it with India losing the World Cup final to Australia winning for the 6th time out of the 8 finals that they have played. And while Cricket dominated the week there were also other things happening in the world. Here is a quick roundup to keep you updated with all of that!

David Beckham in India 

The football legend David Beckham who is on his Indian visit has been the talk of the town. After attending the IND VS NZ World Cup semi-finals in Wankhede Stadium and meeting all the content creators at the META event, he was seen with Bollywood celebs at a Diwali party hosted by Sonam Kapoor, and also with Shah Rukh Khan in his house Mannat. 

ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 

It was a week of cricket matches that dominated our week as the men's World Cup saw its final battles. On one side, India rose up in celebration with the IND VS NZ semi-final with India's win, Virat's record-breaking score, and so much more. On another side, India had a heartbreak with the IND VS AUS final match as we lost the World Cup. Even though Australia's 'Head' broke India's hearts yet the world of the internet rose up to support on the Mondayest Monday of all. In spite of feeling blue people showed around our beloved men in blue, which was unique to notice.

Diwali Celebration by the celebs

It has been a season of parties and celebrations all around. We saw many Bollywood Diwali parties before the festival of light knocked on our doors. The simple yet elegant yet extravagant celebration of the festival by our beloved Bollywood stars made a statement. From Sid-Kiara, Ranbir-Alia, Vicky-Katrina to Kartik Aarya, Shraddha Kapoor, Karan Johar, and many more posted their Diwali for the gram. 

PM Modi has been officially nominated for the Grammys

A song on millets featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is also the co-writer of the song with singer and composer Falguni and Gaurav Shah has been nominated for Grammy 2024. The “Abundance in Millets” song has been nominated under the best global music performance category. It was launched to boost awareness about the importance of millets.

Jimmy Kimmel to host 2024 Oscars

The Academy Awards has announced its host for the evening of the prestigious film awards and it is no other than Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel will be hosting the Oscars 2024 marking his fourth time hosting the ceremony's emecee. The Oscars will be held on March 10, 2024. 

SAG-AFTRA longest actors strike ends

After 120 days almost, the Hollywood actors’ strike is over. It follows the end of a writers’ strike that lasted even longer for almost five months in September. After a series of negotiations, SAG-AFTRA (committee of the union that represents thousands of actors) has reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract with major studios represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).

Director Sanjay Gadhvi's demise 

The filmmaker and director who gave us one of the first series of the film with- Dhoom and Dhoom 2, unfortunately, has passed away at the age of 56. The reports state that he died of a heart attack just three days before his 57th birthday.
