In a historic inauguration ceremony, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris swore in as the President and Vice-President of the USA respectively.
Yesterday 20th January, 2021 marked an important date in history as the swearing-in ceremony of Joe Biden as the 46th President and Kamala Harris as the Vice-President of the United States of America. Harris became became the first woman in the history of the USA to become the Vice-President. Also, Harris being a woman of colour only made the moment more dignified. After a riot, amidst a pandemic in the absence of the outgoing President Donald Trump, this ceremony was unlike any other. Just two weeks ago the same Capitol Hill that was witnessing riots and violence, yesterday witnessed the undertaking of oath by Biden and Harris.
In his speech, Joe Biden vowed to defeat domestic terrorism and political extremism. He expressed his hope for unity and peace. In his address to America, he pledged to become a president for all Americans. Kamala Harris undertook the oath by placing her hand on two Bibles as her husband, now the second first gentleman of USA stood by her. The ceremony saw several performances by some of the most famous celebrities in the country. Lady Gaga sang the National Anthem and Jennifer Lopez sang a medley of multiple songs. Later, Bruce Springsteen also delivered a performance.
Also, the power couple of America, ex-President Barack Obama and ex-First Lady Michelle Obama turned heads with their entry.

There's something kickass about women who laugh out loud in public. May that become a happiness all women share โค๏ธ #KamalaHarris

Iโm dumbfounded by how it took only a few hours of Americana TV, a POEM and a crew of competent adults moving into the White House to fully restore my love and pride in my country.
