Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took oath at the inauguration ceremony

On 20th January, 2021, a historic inauguration ceremony took place at Capitol Hill, Washington DC. Joe Biden took oath as the President and Kamala Harris took oath as the Vice-President of the USA. At least 32 killed in twin suicide bombings in Baghdad

On Friday, 21 January, 2021, twin suicide bombings shook central Baghdad, Iraq. At least 32 people have been killed at the Bab al-Sharqi commercial area. 110 have been seriously wounded. No group has taken responsibility for the attacks yet. Iraqi military officials believe that Islamic State group is behind the bombings.

Farmers Protest Updates

The government has proposed to keep the three farm laws in abeyance for 18 months. However, farmers have rejected the proposal. They demand complete repealing of the laws. A tractor parade will be held on Republic Day by agitating farmers. They aim to display tableaux of different states during the parade.

Indian COVID-19 Vaccine Updates

Nearly one million health workers have gotten the vaccine in the first phase. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other elected representatives will get the vaccine in the second phase. The second phase will involve vaccinating the people above the age of 50 in priority groups.

Popular BBC drama 'Peaky Blinders' to end after season six

Makers of the BBC show Peaky Blinders have confirmed that season 6 will be the last. Creator and writer of the show, Steven Knight had previously said that it will continue until season 7. However, season 7 now stands cancelled. Read more about it here.

Dulquer Salmaan to star in R Balki’s thriller

Known for his light-hearted films, R Balki is now gearing up for for a thriller. He will team up with Malayalam actor, Dulquer Salmaan. The film will go on the floors in the first quarter of 2021. This would mark Balki and Dulquer's first collaboration. Want to read more about it? Here you go.
