It's thus been a good year for web series as well where we saw many experiments being loved by the people. If there were adaptations then there were new genres like survival dramas or detective dramas too. This was a sincere crime thriller that spoke a lot with its rooted storytelling by Sudip Sharma and his team which led to this series becoming the talk of the town of the year!

The Railway Men - Netflix

With a banner as big as YRF behind it and an ensemble cast, the anticipation was high for The Railway Men and this series delivered on it by having a powerful narrative of the chapters of the history that was untold!

Class - Netflix

An adaptation that was dicey surely but engaging as well, Class brought out a side of high school dramas that had class indifference and a dark approach towards storytelling!

Farzi - Prime Video

Another show by Raj and DK, Farzi tells an interesting tale of an artist who goes on to become a master of creating duplicate Indian currency. It's a fab entry of a Bollywood star on OTT and makes for a really nice pan-Indian web series starring Shahid Kapoor vs Vijay Sethupathi!

Dahaad - Prime Video

A Tiger Baby production, Dahaad explores gender politics combined with class indifference in a village under the guise of an interesting idea of investigating a serial killer case. With standout performances, this series almost reminds you of David Fincher's Mindhunter

Jubilee - Prime Video

Vikramaditya Motwayne's tribute to the yesteryears of Indian cinema dating back to the 40s-50s, what was stylised exactly to the T in Jubilee was 'the crown jewel' that enlightens us about the history of our cinema and its industry!

An Excel Entertainment production that is an adapted story of India's don, Daud Ibrahim, Bambai Meri Jaan is a magnificent long-format gangster drama that made us appreciate the format that OTT has to offer to tell a story!

A show for which everyone was desperately awaiting the second season, Made in Heaven delivered a rather underwhelming but still inspiring season 2.

Mumbai Diaries Season 2 - Prime Video

Another show whose second installment had everyone waiting, Mumbai Diaries Season 2 delivered on its promise. Even though it didn't exactly stand tall as its first season yet its ode to the city and its resilient strength with its one-of-a-kind medical drama of India was all worth it!

Asur season 2 - Jio Cinema

A show that came out in the early pandemic and people were waiting for years for its second installment to complete the arc largely impresses everyone because of its intriguing storyline and concept despite its many faults!

Taali - Jio Cinema

A marvelous transformation and performance by Sushmita Sen make this biopic series of Shreegauri Sawant, a trans activist and mother, even more of a compelling watch!

A commendable Indian adaptation of a popular British show that was released in two parts within the year made Aditya Roy Kapur the highlight of the year and Tillotama Shome known by many!

Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo - Disney+ Hotstar

Homi Adajania's flip take on Indian TV soaps inspired by various English dramas, Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo was a pulpy high ride where a matriarchal household run by four powerful women runs a drug cartel business in secret!

Rocket Boys Season 2 - SonyLIV

A second and final season of the historical ride into the minds of our scientists who pioneered our country's nuclear and space strength, Rocket Boys season 2 with exceptional detail to storytelling and amazing acting still manages to blow minds just as the first season did!
